The Opportunity and Role
We are seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer to champion the design of complex tailings containment systems. This pivotal role involves leading multidisciplinary project teams, supported by junior and intermediate engineers and CADD specialists, across the entire project lifecycle—from concept development to final construction execution.
Key responsibilities also encompass performing technical reviews, participating in expert committees, conducting site inspections of tailings facilities, and executing dam stability and performance studies. The engineer will frequently serve as a dedicated Technical Advisor and the authorized Engineer of Record (EoR) on major projects (managing approximately 800 project hours). Mentoring and professional development participation are also central to the role.
Core Responsibilities:
- Lead the design and review of tailings storage facilities, including specifications and plans.
- Contribute significantly to developing mine reclamation and restoration concepts.
- Conduct dam inspections and act as the designated Engineer of Record (EoR).
- Mentor junior staff and promote technical excellence across the team.
