We are seeking an experienced Engine Calibration Engineer to strengthen our team in Morocco, focusing on robust Powertrain Control Strategy development for gasoline and diesel engines.
Core Missions: Developing Powertrain Control Strategy
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your primary mission is to develop, validate, and standardize baseline ECU (Engine Control Unit) calibration data. Your key tasks include:
- Calibration Development: Develop and maintain baseline ECU strategy calibrations for gasoline and diesel engines.
- Parameter Definition: Define and update default parameters for all key engine functions:
- Air and fuel management
- Ignition and injection
- Torque control and engine dynamics
- OBD diagnostic strategies
- Thermal management and emissions
- Validation & Testing: Perform engine and vehicle bench tests to rigorously validate calibrations. Evaluate performance under standard conditions (temperature, altitude, fuels) and ensure robustness across the entire usage range.
- Standardization: Ensure consistency and reusability of calibrations across different vehicles and derivatives.
- Data Analysis: Utilize and interpret test data using essential tools (INCA, MDA, Matlab, Vector).
- Collaboration: Participate in technical meetings and validation reviews, communicating results effectively.
Profile Sought for Engine Calibration Engineer
We are seeking a highly skilled professional with expertise in Powertrain Control Strategy:
- Education: Engineering degree or Master’s in Mechanical, Electromechanical, Powertrain, or Automotive Engineering.
- Expertise: Strong knowledge of engine management systems and control laws.
- Tools Proficiency: Proficiency with calibration and measurement tools: INCA, MDA, CANape, AVL CRETA.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Understanding of OBD strategies, emissions, and regulations (Euro 6/7, EPA, CARB). Familiarity with homologation cycles and international constraints.
- Foundational Knowledge: Knowledge of engine thermodynamics, combustion, and forced induction.
- Languages: Fluent in French and technical English.
- Qualities: Analytical mindset, rigor, autonomy, and ability to work effectively in multi-site teams.
