Introduction: Innovate with Valeo
We are issuing this call because we are looking for a brilliant mind: a future Electrotechnical R&D Intern ready to reinvent mobility. Valeo is a global tech leader committed to reducing CO2 emissions. Therefore, we invite you to join our R&D center in Valenton (France) to work on revolutionary electric propulsion systems.
Furthermore, joining us means entering a « Great Place to Work » environment. In addition, you will become a key player in our transition towards greener mobility. <a href= »/careers/valeo-culture »>Discover our innovation culture here.</a> (Internal Link)
Context: Digital Twins and AI
You will integrate the System & Control department. However, this is not a standard engineering role. The core challenge involves creating accurate « Digital Twins » using Physics-Informed Neural Networks (PINN).
For instance, while we have successfully tested thermal models, we now need to scale this to multiphysics models. Consequently, your role as an Electrotechnical R&D Intern will be to develop robust methodologies to handle Big Data for industrial validation.
Key Missions for an Electrotechnical R&D Intern
Under the supervision of a Research Engineer, you will drive this scientific project. Above all, you will merge physics with deep learning. Your daily missions will include:
- First, conducting a deep bibliographic study on PINN methods and Big Data strategies.
- Then, designing pipelines for data collection, cleaning, and pre-processing to optimize learning phases.
- Specifically, adapting algorithms for efficient GPU usage.
- Finally, implementing the full methodology using Python and PyTorch on real industrial use cases.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a student in Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, or Data Science. As a result, you must be comfortable with the intersection of physics and code.
- Tech Stack: Proficiency in Python and PyTorch is essential.
- Skills: Knowledge of PINN or Deep Learning frameworks.
- Mindset: Curious, analytical, and ready to tackle complex inverse problems.
Why This Internship is Unique
To conclude, this experience offers a rare opportunity to apply AI to real-world automotive challenges. You will work in a multicultural environment with over 20,000 engineers globally. Moreover, Valeo is ranked as the number one company in the automotive sector for sustainable development.
In the same vein, we embrace diversity in all its forms.
