The Role: Cyber Support Engineer

As part of the expansion of Naval Group Belgium’s operations, we are recruiting a Cyber Support Engineer to join our dedicated Cyber Department. This role is crucial for maintaining the security and operational performance of our maritime cyber platforms.

Working in a dynamic, high-stakes environment within the naval industry, your primary mission will be to provide comprehensive support, maintenance, and expert services.

Key Responsibilities Include:

     

      • Cyber Performance Improvement: Analyze current platform performance (detection and response capabilities) and implement necessary technical and configuration changes to enhance effectiveness.

      • Threat Intelligence Adaptation: Recommend strategic product and configuration modifications in response to evolving threat landscapes and new operational requirements.

      • Service Evolution: Actively engage with stakeholders to understand evolving needs and develop the cyber services accordingly.

      • Post-Maintenance Validation: Maintain a robust cyber security posture by thoroughly validating systems after any maintenance or service intervention.

      • Supplier Qualification: Assess and validate the cyber maturity of third-party suppliers during maintenance procedures.

      • System Upgrades: Execute necessary upgrades and patches on our maritime cyber products to ensure they remain state-of-the-art.

      • Policy and Defense Maintenance:
        • Uphold and update existing cyber security policies.
        • Maintain the Cyber Defense readiness by updating or creating new detection strategies and reaction cards, and refining product configurations.

      • Knowledge Transfer: Act as a thought leader by educating stakeholders on essential cyber practices during maintenance cycles.

      • Reporting: Provide clear, concise, and timely reports on all actions and interventions performed.

    Candidate Profile

    Qualifications & Experience:

     

        • Education: Hold an advanced degree (equivalent to Bac+5 or higher) in Software Engineering, Computer Science, Telecommunications, or a related technical field.

        • Experience: 5+ years of significant professional experience in a similar cybersecurity support or integration role.

        • Domain Knowledge: Proven understanding of the cyber service industry.

      Skills & Attributes:

          • Teamwork: You thrive in a team setting, valuing transparency and active listening.

          • Language Proficiency: Fluent command of English is mandatory. A working knowledge of French and/or Dutch is highly beneficial.

        Location Details:

            • The position is primarily based in our Zeebrugge office, with regular travel required to our main office in Brussels.
